Emma came through her surgery...

The vet said to try and keep Emma inactive for a day or two...hahaha! hahaha! Well, try 10 minutes....she's just as busy as ever. She is a little chilly though, as you can she she has a little bare tummy...so sits over the heating vents at times. Or snuggles up to Squeaker.

She's been pretty good about not licking her incision though, so I didn't need to dust off the Elizabethan collar for her. As you can see, she likes to keep me company while I am on my computer....ah yes....what a pest....but a cute one!

Emma has Surgery today...after Falling in the Toilet!!

I told her, "One of these days, you're gonna fall in!" and this morning while Ted was in the half bath, he heard a "kerplunk" and she was in the toilet! So at 6:30 this morning Emma had a bath. She actually did well: she didn't fight it like Squeaker used to, and she hardly cried. (I think Squeaker was crying right along!)

Then after the bath, she tried to get dry by licking herself. How does that work? We had to be at the Vet's by 9 am for her spaying, so in the end, I wrapped her up in 2 blankets to drive over there, as it is -25 C here this morning. She was still a little damp, but she smelled heavenly and she was all sparkly clean for the operating room!

My Little Darlings having a Snooze...

As you can see, Emma is growing! And they sure love their soft fuzzy bed!

Ted is Determined!

This is my better half just after riding his mountain bike today...ha! It's only -13 C! He found some studded tires for his bike this weekend, which prevents "spills" as he travels the Westlock Rotary Trail. He faithfully rides everyday. Even in the bitter cold...well I should say he tried it, and decided that -15 C would be the coldest temp he would ride in. Brave chap!

Need a last minute gift Idea????

How to make bedroom slippers out of maxi pads:You need four maxi pads to make a pair. Two of them get laid out flat, for the foot part. The other two wrap around the toe area to form the top.Tape or glue each side of the top pieces to the bottom of thefoot part.Decorate the tops with whatever you desire, silk flowers (this is mostaesthetically appealing), etc. These slippers are:* Soft and Hygienic* Non-slip grip strips on the soles* Built in deodorant feature keeps feet smelling fresh* No more bending over to mop up spills* Disposable and biodegradable* Environmentally safe* Three convenient sizes: (1.) Regular, (2.) Light and (3.) Get out the Sand Bags.I've attached a photo of the first pair I made so that you can see thenifty slippers for yourself....

Getting in the holiday mood...

I really have done well this year. Nearly all my gifts are wrapped and sitting high atop a shelf where my 2 girls cannot get at them. I can imagine the mess if they were able to get their teeth and paws into the crinkly paper...and Emma's favorite: bows & ribbon!
The only thing I am behind on is decorating...and there is a reason for this: Squeaker & especially Emma. The few things I do have out have been toppled over many times, or chewed on, so I am perposely leaving the tree & decorations until the last minute.
We had our first very cold weather yesterday with -27 C and -37 C with wind chill. Our Nitro 4x4 stays nice & warm and the big tires manage the ice and snow nicely. So we still went shopping. Ted dropped me off at Kristin's while he went to places like Princess Auto and the Leather Warehouse....boring! So I got to help her clean out her closet....dusty! But She & Ty bought shelves, etc for setting up her sewing room properly, so the job had to be done.

Holiday Memory

The most memorable Christmas goes back to the time the kids were about 3 and 5. They were so excited and could hardly wait. Actually, they didn't wait, because I woke up one morning to find they had unwrapped all the gifts under the tree! Paper and presents were scattered all over! I don't remember if there were consequences though....I can still see the scene!!

The Snowball: too cute!

Ted's finished the sofa & Chair...

Now you see the set all finished. It really looks original.

I think the customer will be very pleased. They wanted the antique look.
