Spent the Afternoon in Slave Lake

We wanted to drive up and have a steak BBQ with Scott this afternoon.  It is a gorgeous drive up there, everything is so green and lush . . . but you do see areas of black burned trees, and also red ones, where the fire retardent was sprayed.

 Scott took us for a tour of town (OMG!) and also to the shop where he works.  On his desk was a parcel that had been mailed (from Kristin) the day before the fire devastated the town.  He finally got it!  One thing in it was a Birthday Card from Grama that took months to get to him!!!

 He showed us the lab . . .

And we got to see our cute little refugee, all happy to be home!
