Great Day for a Ride

Ted and Murray Reeder played hookey from work today and rode the Wings out to Heinsburg, AB, near the Saskatchewan border. The photo below is the old water tower right by the river, that used to service the steam trains.  The tracks and all railroad evidence have been removed, save the rail bed.  Ted tells me the bed has been converted into a massive trail called the Iron Horse Trail,  that runs all the way to Wasketenau in one direction and Cold Lake in the other.  He plans to add this to his list of trails to ride next summer.
